Imazon points to increase in deforestation in the Amazon
"We have been monitoring this increase in deforestation on a monthly basis, with negative records. The areas deforested in March, April and May were the largest of the past 10 years for each month. And if we analyse only the overall amount registered in 2021, the deforestation is also the worst of the last decade", stated Imazon researcher Antônio Fonseca in the text published on the Imazon portuguese website and that you can read HERE.
